You can help employees make informed medication decisions and save money

January 2020

As more prescription medications hit the market, costs and confusion are on the rise. To help your employees make sense of it all, we've partnered with MedSavvy®, an independent medication transparency solution that assesses a drug's safety, effectiveness, cost and more. Pharmacists are specially trained in clinical evidence review and evaluation.*

MedSavvy is embedded in virtually all of our fully insured group plans. Self-funded groups can purchase access to MedSavvy as a buy-up.

Education and smart choices can lead to savings

We've made it simple for your employees to connect with MedSavvy.

It's available via a streamlined, single-sign-on experience on an employee's asuris.com Member Dashboard. MedSavvy shows treatment options, report-card-style effectiveness grades, safety information, user reviews and personalized costs based on benefits. With side-by-side comparisons for both medication quality and cost, employees will know if they can save money on an effective, lower cost medication option. A licensed team of pharmacists provide information on medication options, including report-card-style grades for medication effectiveness and personalized, benefit-specific cost. The team of pharmacists will also alert users if their medication has a relevant safety notice, recall, or cost-savings opportunity.*

Engagement resources for employees

One way that MedSavvy can help drive savings is through relevant employee engagement campaigns.

To help you and your employees learn about MedSavvy, we've prepared a toolkit with everything you need to get the word out. Here's a partial list of what's included:

  • Sample launch article for your company newsletter or intranet
  • Sample all-employee email from a top executive or your HR department
  • 11″ × 17″ poster
  • 8 1/2″ × 11″ flyer

You could put a poster in the lunchroom, have a brief MedSavvy presentation at your next all-staff meeting and publish the short article in your company newsletter or on your intranet. Mailing MedSavvy information to employees at home can also help them start conversations about health and wellness with their loved ones.
