We received approval on our Medicare Supplement plan rates for the April 1, 2020, renewal, and are excited to announce an average 2.5% increase. Following two years of rate passes, the low increases demonstrate our plans’ stability. They also maintain the competitive rates current and future members deserve.
The attached rate sheets contain a breakdown of the rate increase per plan:
- 2010 Standard Pledge Plans A, C, F and K: 3.0%
- 2010 Standard Pledge Plan G: 1.5%
- 2010 Standard Pledge Plan N: 0.0%
- 1990 Standard Plans: 3.0%
Pre-Standard Plans: 0.0%
We will continue to offer the spousal discount; however, effective April 1, 2020, it will change to $15 PMPM on all plans. This impacts new members, as well as existing members who already qualify for the discount. Our rates on Plans F and G continue to be the lowest in the market for qualified individuals.
To qualify for the spousal discount, both members:
- Must reside in the same household
- And be enrolled in any combination of the Asuris Pledge Medigap plans (A, C, F, G, K, N)
And be married, or state-registered domestic partners
Current members who are not taking advantage of the discount should call Customer Service at 1-888-319-8575 to request it. New applicants simply complete the spousal discount section of the application, and the discount will be applied to each policy upon approval.
Asuris continues to offer Silver&Fit to our Medigap members at no cost. It gives members access to 14,000+ participating fitness centers nationwide or up to two home fitness kits per calendar year.
We also expanded the program on Jan. 1, 2020, to include a buy-up option. The new expanded network has four tiers with different price points based on facility amenities. Tier 1 continues to be available to our members at no cost. Tiers 2, 3 and 4 are buy-up options that offer access to full-service fitness facilities and specialty exercise clubs at a reduced cost compared to standard membership fees.
The prices for the buy-up tiers are:
- Tier 2: $39 per month
- Tier 3: $59 per month
Tier 4: $79 per month
To avoid paying full price for membership fees at a buy-up facility, members can enroll in Silver&Fit by visiting silverandfit.com or calling 1-888-797-8086.

The commissions on all Asuris Medigap plans will continue to be 10% PMPM (on full filed rate, not discounted rate) and are paid for the life of the policy! There will be no reductions over time, no reductions for situational enrollments, and no refusal to pay on Agent of Record changes. It’s that easy with Asuris.
Our sales collateral has minor updates to reflect the rate changes. The 2020 application (EFF 1/20) is available for immediate use. It is also posted on our producer website under Medigap Forms & Documents.
Letters about the rate change were mailed to members in early March. Members who currently have the spousal discount received a separate letter informing them of the change in the discount amount.
Members who enrolled with effective dates between May 1, 2019, and March 1, 2020, will be subject to the rate changes on April 1. The rates are guaranteed to not change until the following renewal.
