What members need to know about their Asuris Choice Vision plan

January 21, 2019

Every day, more groups are adopting our new Asuris Choice Vision plans and enjoying the expanded benefits made possible by our partnership with VSP, the nation's leading vision services provider. Because vision care is an important part of overall health, our Vision Choice plan offers preventive and personalized care, including:

  • Comprehensive screening–through the VSP WellVision Exam®, which can identify common vision problems and signs of more serious health conditions.
  • Provider choice–VSP doctors deliver personalized care that focuses on keeping members healthy year after year. They offer lower out-of-pocket costs and are available at 96,000 locations nationwide, including both community-based clinics as well as many of the most popular retail chains. Members can even choose a non-VSP provider, but usually at a higher cost.
  • Choice in eyewear–from classic to designer styles.

We're committed to making these benefits as easy to use as possible for our members, so here are some important tips for you to share with your groups.

Before scheduling an appointment

Members should verify their covered family members' benefits to find more plan details and how much they can expect to pay. Members should first sign in at asuris.com (and create an account if they don't already have one), and then follow the link to vsp.com found in the vision benefits section.

Members who go directly to vsp.com should have their Asuris member ID card handy. They'll need their member ID number and member suffix number to create an account; those numbers are also needed when setting up a dependent account and viewing dependent coverage.

Members can sign in to their asuris.com account for complete details on all vision benefits.

Finding an eye doctor

Members have three easy ways to find a VSP doctor and save money:

  • Use the Find a doctor tool on asuris.com
  • Use the Find a VSP doctor tool on vsp.com
  • Call VSP at 1 (844) 299-3041

At their appointment, members should inform the provider that they have VSP and show their Asuris member ID card.
